Rules

5v5 House League

  • Two halves of 20 minutes each will be played, weather permitting.
  • The minimum time played for a game to be valid is 27 minutes.
  • A minimum of 4 players per team is required to play a game.
  • Injury to any player is an immediate stop to the game, regardless of which team has the advantage. If a foul was committed, a free kick restarts the game. Otherwise, use a drop ball to restart.
  • Dangerous play, including high kicks when an opponent is nearby, endangering the goalie within the penalty box, or slide tackling, is an automatic foul and free kick.
  • One coach is allowed behind the goal line for the first five weeks of the season (until the week of July 11th), providing that another coach is on the bench to supervise the players.
  • No coaches are allowed on the playing field.
  • Regular laws apply for substitutions. A team can substitute players on goal kicks, after a goal, if there is an injury (only the injured player may substitute) and on their own throw ins.
  • Gamesheets are always required.
  • Second chances will be given on throw ins for the first five weeks of the season (until the week of July 11th).
  • Regular laws apply for direct and indirect kicks.
  • No cards will be given at this level. Instead, there will be “cooling off” periods where a referee may send a player off the field to calm down.
